NEUROPATHY

What is Neuropathy?

Neuropathy is a result of nerve damage which causes numbness and tingling, usually in the hands and feet. One of the main causes of peripheral neuropathy is Diabetes. Symptoms may include pins-and-needles sensation, numbness, pain, weakness, and other uncomfortable sensations. The Peripheral Nervous System sends signals between the Central Nervous System and the rest of the body. When these signals malfunction, it can cause loss of signals or inappropriate signaling causing the symptoms of Neuropathy.

How does Ketamine treat Neuropathy?

Ketamine helps treat Neuropathy by blocking the NMDA receptors and binding to all types of Opioid receptors. The result of Ketamine administration is a reduction in inflammation and the activity of pain producing nociceptors.
